First South Asian Open Langadi Tournament, Bhutan

Phuentsholing, Bhutan 7th May : Under the auspice of Asian langadi Federation, Bhutan langadi Association organized first Open South Asian Langadi Tournament at Phuentsholing, Bhutan & India own both the titles in this tournament.
India own all league matches with Nepal & Bhutan in men section. India battled against Bhutan in final & own the title one sided with one inning defeat having score 25-16. From India Taikon Meitel (1:30, 1:40 min defences & scored 4 wickets), Aniket Adarkar (1:00 & 1:10 min defences & scored 5 wickets), Kapil Kumar (1:00 min defences & scored 4 wickets) at the same time Sagar Ingale scored 3 wicket. Captain Deva Sitham, Taushik Kalavant & Shubham Nevere also help India to score the point 25. From Bhutan side Nimrol Tamrag (1:10 min defences & scored 2 wickets), Simson Lama (1:00min defences & scored 2 wickets) & Peter Lama (3 wickets) put their efforts to minimise the score difference but finally India win by an inning & 9 points.
Also women section India own all league matches with Nepal & Bhutan. India battled against Bhutan in final & own the title one sided with one inning defeat having score 18-10. From India captain Sakshi Pilankar gives her best performance as (2:00 min each inning defences & scored 5 points), Madhura pednekar (1:30 min each inning defences & scored 5 points), P. Bakkiyalakshumi defended 1:20 min & Madhura Palav scored 4 points. Vice captain Rabnoor Kaur, Soniya Gaikwad, & Seethapriya also help Indian team to score 18 point. From Bhutan side Jaya Barman (1:10 min defences), Yankadu Sherpa (1:00 min defences & scored 3 points) & Muskan Khalin (1:10 min defences & scored 2 points) tried to avoid defeat but they are unsuccessful.
For Award ceremony, Suresh Gandhi (Secretary of Langadi Federation Of India), Thilen Norbu (President of Bhutan Langadi Association), Aarti Lama (Secretary of Bhutan Langadi Association), Chimi Dorji (Treasurer of Bhutan Langadi Association), Gabbar Thapa (Representative of Nepal Langadi Association and Arpan Sing (Organising Secretary of Tournament) were present. Winning teams awarded by Gold Medals along with Certificates.
I Deva Sitham (Tamilandu) & Sakshee Pilankar (Mumbai, Maharashtra) declared as Men’s an Women’s Captain of Indian Langadi team.
Phuentsholing, Bhutan 5rh May: Under the auspice of Asian Langadi Federation, Bhutan Langadi Association organized First Open South Asian Langadi Tournament at Phuentsholing, Bhutan in the period – 5th to 7th May, 2014.
Yesterday afternoon Indian Langadi Contingent arrived at Hasimara, West Bengal and after warm welcome from Gen. Secretary, Bhutan Langadi Association, Mrs. Aarti Lama advanced to Phuentsholing by private bus.
Mr. I Deva Sitham (Tamilnadu) and Miss Sakshee Pilankar (Maharashtra) lead India in men and Women group. Mr. Aniket Adarkar (Maharashtra) and Miss Rabnoor Kaur (Delhi) will become Vice Captain of Men and Women Indian Langadi Team.
India Captain Mr. I. Deva Sitham is a Software Engineer and working in Tata Consultancy Services, Vice Captain Aniket Adarkar is studying In T. Y. B. Com, Mr. Bal Toraskar is accompanying contingent as PRO.
Final Matches of First Asian Langadi Tournament will be on 7th May, 2014.
