Langadi India – History

ASIAN LANGADI FEDERATION

Langadi is an ancient game of INDIA. It is played literally in every part of India on school level & presently played professionally at clubs. This is the first game which a child plays when he starts playing in school. Unfortunately nobody thought to develop Langadi as a game. Langadi is known by various names in different parts of India. In North Eastern States of India it is known as KUKURAZU, ARONI or GAMOSA in Punjab as LANGADA SHER in Delhi as LANGADI TANG in South as KUNTATA in Eastern states like Orissa as CHUTA GUDO. After formation of Langadi Federation of India in 2009 this game is known as LANGADI all over India. Then Hon. Secretary Langadi Federation of India Mr. Suresh Gandhi studied this Langadi game in deep and started to make unilateral and common rules in 2009. The mairf intention behind this was to procure organizational structure to Langadi which will help to get popularity, uniformity of Rules & develop and spread the game across all states of India. We hope that we will get all recognition from Govt. of India, CBSC Board & School Games Federation of India. Its our great achievement that Langadi has been included as regular game in MUMBAI UNIVERSITY from last year. Now our next goal is to affiliate this game in All India University.

After its origin in 2009, Langadi made its entry into INTERNATIONAL SPORTS FIELD by its first appearance at POKHARA, NEPAL in 2013 for bilateral competition between NEPAL & INDIA and now in 2014 by conduction of first Triangular Championship at Phuntsholing, Bhutan betweern NEPAL, INDIA & BHUTAN.

We had successfully organized the first Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand in 2015. In 2017, the second Asian Games were held in Singapore. India, Singapore, Bangladesh and Nepal participated in this tournament.

Langadi is looking forward for a glorious entry into INTERNATIONAL SPORTS very soon.
